I LOVE the modular line of LEGO models, so why will I pass on this one? For a couple reasons, actually.

I’m not in love with the design

It’s just… ok. The modular buildings seem to be losing that small town 1950s nostalgic vibe. The build is uninspired. The colors are ok.

The price is going to be an issue

When the Cafe Corner came out, I think it was $129; a tone of money at the time. Then it was $149. Then $159. And then $169. And now $199. The most expensive modular is also the smallest. Yes, it has a high piece count, but I’d be willing to bet there are a ton of small pieces.

I’m not impressed

You heard it here first. This will be the beginning of the end for the LEGO modular building series.
